What is the best starting region in Kenshi? ›

I found that the most common place to start the game is in the Hub (or Sho-Battai (in the Desert....) It's the newbie area and if you start there, I suggest you make your way to WayStation Z in the Borderlands just south east of Hub.

A low level and low risk area, the Border Zone has a few solid options for players looking to start out their settlement journey in Kenshi. Basically a no-mans-land slotted between the Shek Kingdom and the Holy Nation, the Border Zone is actually the home of several game starts and is therefore quite forgiving.

There are plenty of games with larger maps than it out there, but it is one of the largest that isn't purely seed RNG, or a driving/flying simulator. For instance, on this list it would fit right between Just Cause 3 and True Crime. Kenshi has about 335 square miles of map.

Go to town you want to claim. Open ingame editor with "shift + F12". Select Town Placement and search for the name of the town you are in. Click on the name of the town you are in and then the town marker statue should vanish.

Sho-Battai is one of the best starting spots if you can get there. It does have copper outside the gate, has a mechanical shop and a general store which provide enough supplies to support a weaponsmith and a leather armour crafter so you can get an economy going.

Border Zone for rookies because it has weak enemies, a good amount of iron, some copper, and it's in the center of the map. Also, food isn't a problem: you can make Chewsticks. There's a sweet spot north of the first hive village west of the Hub.

The Western Hive is the friendliest Hive Faction. Western Hive can be found in many zones of Kenshi, often in Trade Caravans. This faction is home to hivers who are of these races: Hive Prince.

Go into Holy Nation country as a non-human & you will become a slave & be packed off to mine for the rest of your life unless you escape. Be knocked out in a fight and then slavers suddenly walk by, they're more than likey to pick you up & put you into slavery when they walk you back to a slave town.

Although you start out with just one character, you can have as many as you want. It is up to you if you want a huge faction or a small elite group. It is perfectly possible to play the game with only one or two characters if you wish, but the game plays best with around 4-15 characters.

Carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive. How long is Kenshi? When focusing on the main objectives, Kenshi is about 82 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 273 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

What is the max level in Kenshi? ›

In Kenshi, it's ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to reach level 101. The closer your level gets to 100 in Kenshi, the slower it increases. To allow the player to reach level 200, this mod uses a modifier. Around level 85 (based on my personal experience), leveling up characters becomes painfully slow.

In vanilla you can't. Cannibals are endless, and nothing will stop them.

Building a house in Kenshi requires players to travel far outside a town. First, bring up the building menu by clicking the appropriate button on the bottom right of the screen.

The best Beginning for a new player is the Wanderer. Starting alone in the Hub, a town of Holy Nation Outlaws within the Border Zone, the Wanderer starts with a 1 in all of their skills. Fortunately, the Hub is a great jumping off point for adventure.
