How to install RTGI in ReShade?

First locate reshade-shaders folder inside bin and extract your copy of RTGI there and overwrite. Then copy from bin folder to game root reshade-shaders folder and d3d9. dll file. Finally extract preset to game root folder and overwrite.

What is RTGI ReShade?

The ReShade Ray Traced Global Illumination Shader (“RTGI”) is our most well-known effect, featured since its inception in various news articles and has since then been adopted by NVIDIA in their NVIDIA FreeStyle and Ansel driver modules as “SSRTGI” for use on select games.

Can ReShade add raytracing?

ReShade is one of the more popular post-processing apps out there, and with its new 6.0 update, it can now apply ray tracing and mesh shading to your favorite games .

How do I un install ReShade?

Most of the computer programs have uninstall.exe or uninst000.exe in their installation folders. Go to the installation folder of Reshade. Most of the times it is located in C:\Programs files or C:\Program files(x86) Double click the file to start the uninstallation process.

Do you need an RTX card for RTGI?

RTGI does not require an RTX card , as it performs software based ray/path tracing. RTX cards merely accelerates a type of ray tracing and the RTX API allows to leverage this hardware acceleration, but we do not require it. As such, RTGI functions on every video card.

Can ReShade decrease FPS?

You can use this software with either a minimal performance system to enhance the color shaders or can cut your framerates over half if you're altering all the advanced shading techniques .

Is it safe to use ReShade?

@trcpunzel Reshade is generally safe to use with Sims 4 , but occasionally a game update will make it incompatible. So at the very least, you'll need to be prepared to clean out all the Reshade files and play without it after a patch.

Basically a very limited screen space ray tracing global illumination . It's a global occlusion and illumination but doesnt compute what's outside the screen.
